Try this to see if you can avoid a service call…

• Thermostat control:  If your furnace thermostat has a dual control for heating and cooling, make sure the control has been turned to the “HEAT” mode.
• Furnace power switch: Usually located on a wall near the furnace-must be in the ON position
• Fuse or circuit breaker: located in the main electrical panel.  The fuse may need replacing or the circuit breaker may have been turned off
• Furnace filter: Replace or clean dirty filters.  A clogged filter can block the flow of air into your home.
• Pilot light: An older furnace may have a pilot light that must be lit by hand if it goes out.  If you have such a furnace and the pilot light isn’t lit, try once to relight it.  If you have difficulty lighting the pilot light, give us a call for advice.

1. Check the indoor and outdoor disconnect switches.  Verify that circuit breakers are ON or that fuses have not blown.
2. Check for sufficient airflow-Check the air filter for any accumulations of dirt.  Check for blocked return-air or supply-air registers.  Be sure registers are open and unobstructed.

•   3. Check the settings on your indoor thermostat.  If you desire cooling, make sure that the temperature control selector is set below room temperature and the SYSTEM or MODE control is set to COOL or AUTO.
